Oak is one of the best firewoods. Because Oak is a hardwood it burns slowly and is longer lasting than softwoods. Oak produces approximately 7.2 million BTUs per m3, compared to Pine at around 4.4 million BTUs.
Beech is an excellent firewood choice. Like Oak it is a hardwood with the associated burning qualities. Beech produces approximately 7.6 BTUs per m3. The smooth bark does not flake as much as other tree types. This characteristic makes it popular with domestic users.
We work hard to ensure the quality of our firewood. To assist us in this, we store our firewood in a large barn to keep it away from the wet weather. This enables us to deliver dry firewood at any time of year.
